About Us

Preserving traditional crafts while building modern businesses

Our Mission

Artisan Skills Academy was founded in 2019 with a clear vision: to preserve traditional craftsmanship while empowering artisans to build sustainable, profitable businesses in the modern economy.

We believe that handmade goods have intrinsic value in an increasingly automated world. Our comprehensive programmes combine expert craft training with essential business skills, ensuring our graduates can turn their passion into a viable livelihood.

What Makes Us Different

Unlike traditional craft courses that focus solely on technique, we integrate business development into every programme. Our students learn not just how to create beautiful work, but how to price it properly, market effectively, and build a sustainable customer base.

Our instructors are working artisans who run successful businesses themselves. They bring real-world experience and practical insights that go far beyond textbook theory.

Our Approach

We maintain small class sizes to ensure personalised attention and hands-on guidance. Each student receives individual mentorship throughout their journey, from their first project to launching their business.

Our curriculum balances traditional techniques with modern business practices. Students gain access to our exclusive marketplace, business document templates, and ongoing support from our community of artisan entrepreneurs.

Our Impact

Since 2019, we've trained over 300 artisans across the UK. Our graduates have launched successful businesses, created employment opportunities, and contributed to the revival of traditional crafts in their communities.

We're proud that 87% of our graduates are still actively working in their craft two years after completing their course, with an average first-year income of £42,000.
